POSITION SUMMARY

The Food QA Technologist is responsible for completing physical and chemical product analyses and developing compliance reports. This position provides technical support to CKE’s Product Managers by assisting in reviewing, handling and updating/preparing procedures for existing, new or reintroducing products through laboratory and test kitchen analyses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

·       Monitors supplier’s products to verify compliance to CKE’s specification and requirements.

·       Generates compliance reports and communicates with CKE Project Managers.

·       Uploads data to QA databases.

·       Maintains lab and test kitchen QA inventory by ordering products as needed.

·       Maintains calibration schedule, records and documentation of laboratory equipment.

·       Responsible to send out equipment for calibration as needed.

·       Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills; communicates effectively with various contacts (internal and external)

·       Attends training to remain current on industry trends.

·       Participates  in company meetings, webinars and conference calls

·       Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

·       Must possess approximately one (1) to three (3) years of any combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of Food Processing, Quality Assurance or Product Development

·       BA/BS Degree in a technical field

·       Must have a strong knowledge of Food Safety Programs and Standard Operating Procedures.

·       Must be knowledgeable in various food product/processing principles, restaurant equipment & preparation systems.

·       Must have practice and/or working knowledge of product inspections and analyses.

·       Must have good organization, problem-solving skills.

·       Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

·       Must have a strong understanding of statistics and statistical process control.

·       Must be proficient with applicable computer programs, ESHA / Genesis experience a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

       Corporate Office environment, project based, fast paced, high volume of activity, demanding and deadline driven. Laboratory, test kitchen and food production facility environments with associated physical and chemical hazards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

       Sitting for long periods at a time, standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 lbs. 

       Travel – 5- 10%
