The Manager, Financial Accounting and Consolidations is responsible for all aspects of the Company’s accounting period close process. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the work with the outsourced accounting firm located in China. The person in this role will take a lead in understanding and implementing corporate accounting policies as appropriate and work on several international accounting initiatives to enhance the performance of the international accounting team.  We are looking for a global minded person with solid accounting skills who can work independently and is comfortable dealing at all levels within the organization. 


May perform any or all of the following duties:

  • Displays outstanding leadership skills; provides coaching, guidance and development advice to two (2) direct reports 
  • Manages corporate consolidation and account reconciliation process for multiple reporting entities in both US GAAP and various international local GAAP
  • Prepares consolidated statement of cash flows and review consolidated equity roll-forwards
  • Performs initial review of Company’s significant contracts for accounting-related considerations
  • Maintains and supports ERP system and internal reporting tools as necessary to prepare internal financial reports
  • Responsible for coordination with international accounting team and establishing and ensuring timeliness of overall monthly close activities, accuracy of close processes and consolidation of international operations
  • Analyzes monthly reporting package received from international operations to ensure understanding of fluctuations and ensure it is in compliance with US GAAP
  • Analyzes general and administrative expenses related to corporate and franchise operations ensuring that proper accruals are made
  • Prepares quarterly analytics and provides support to external auditors and other financial reporting
  • Prepares analyses for senior management including, but not limited to, self-insurance actuarial analysis, goodwill analysis, VIE analysis, balance sheet carve procedures
  • Supports SOX internal control monitoring requirements, SEC reporting, external auditors and other financial reporting processes
  • Reviews general accounting analyses and schedules provided to external auditors
  • Assists in the resolution of any potential audit and review findings
  • Values efficiency and identifies and initiates process improvement opportunities
  • Actively participates in the identification, selection and implementation of appropriate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Assists other departments in interpretation and application of accounting policies
  • Assists senior management with special projects and addresses business and financial ramifications of significant and/or unusual transactions, as needed
  • Supports strategic initiatives of the Company while preserving the integrity of the financial information and internal controls
  • Participates in company meetings, webinars and conference calls
  • Attends seminars and other educational resources to remain current

  • Minimum of  four (4) years of any combination of experience and/or education, that demonstrates a commanding knowledge in accounting, finance or related field; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience (senior role preferred)
  • CPA license, or comparable certification (inactive status is acceptable)
  • Experience with IFRS or IAS preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to identify and implement process improvement capabilities
  • Strong work ethic; commitment to seeing duties completed at a high standard of quality
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively, both in teams and independently
  • Ability to use independent thinking and professional judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environment, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Corporate Office fast paced, high volume of activity and a deadline driven environment
  • Sitting for extended periods of time, using telephone, typing and/or operating a computer and/or mouse
  • Travels as needed approximately five (5)%
