ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

       Manage, provide guidance and direction to our IBM partners

       Responsible participant in the critical payroll deadlines

       Decision making authority as it relates to payroll processes and transactions

       Coordinates and audits the balancing of all payroll transactions

       Coordinates all general ledger interface processes

       Manages the relationship with the third party payroll tax vendor

       Coordinates tax quarter & year-end activities

       Coordinates and provides support for tax amendments and inquiries

       Manages all activities associated with payroll banking and funding relationships

       Maintain and support the payroll process

       Ensures the timely and accurate recording of all valid payroll transactions, cash balancing, remittance processing and account reconciliation

       Ensures that employee income is properly taxed and reported to government agencies and is correctly collected for internal reporting

       Coordinates account reconciliation and ensures timely completion

       Organizes and audits payroll accounting and tax functions to achieve maximum efficiencies and improve current procedures

       Ensures current balancing and distribution of payroll accounting data

       Works with payroll to balance W-2’s and year end reporting

       Attends seminars and completes other training to remain current on industry trends

       Participates in company meetings, webinars and conference calls

       Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements


 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

       Five (5) years of any combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of the payroll process, including accounting and reporting

       BA/BS Degree preferred

       Certified Payroll Professional preferred

       Must have ability to maintain high degree of accuracy

       Must have demonstrated knowledge of federal and state tax regulation as it pertains to payroll tax

       Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

       Oracle HCM and/or PeopleSoft experience a plus

       Must display strong analytical and organizational skills and have the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business results

       Must have strong work ethics and a high level of discretion and integrity to ensure proper handling of confidential information

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

       Corporate Office fast paced, high volume of activity and a deadline driven environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

       Sitting for extended periods of time, using telephone, typing and/or operating a computer and/or mouse

 

       Travels as needed approximately ten (10) %
