The Software Engineer is responsible for working with a team of developers and business analysts to assist with the creation, testing, and maintenance of software applications and integration primarily built for usage both in restaurants and at the CKE corporate office. 

 

This role will develop and maintain business applications used to support the needs of the restaurant and the enterprise.    This role will be called upon to write code at various architectural layers, to include data tier, business logic tier, and presentation layer.  Further, the ability to both create and consume APIs will be critical in this role.  

 

This role will service software development needs according to project specifications from multiple departments in accordance with company standards.  Additionally, this role will participate in other projects not directly related to his or her immediate project objectives.

 

This role will also become the SME for existing application code and will be required to support existing code when issues arise.   

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Development and maintenance of business applications used to support the needs of the restaurant and the enterprise

  • Developing new code at all architectural layers, to include data tier, business logic tier, and presentation layer 

  • Creating and consuming complex APIs

  • Servicing of software development needs according to project specifications from multiple departments in accordance with company standards

  • Participating in other projects not directly related to his or her immediate project objectives

  • Working within the IT organization and partner with DBA’s, Business Analysts and Project Managers on strategic initiatives within the organization

  • Partnering with key business units and project teams on solution delivery, testing, and requirements

  • Attending seminars and completes other training to remain current on industry trends

  • Creating and maintaining detailed application documentation

  • Performing other duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements

     

 Experiences and Competencies

 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including facilitation and team leadership.

  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and capable of working independently or within a team

  • Strong background in system development and implementation lifecycles.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and able to handle multiple projects and tasks

  • Must have a positive attitude and handle stress well in a highly changing environment  

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships and foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, trust, and support

  • Must display strong analytical and organizational skills and have the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business results

  • Ability to adapt and adjust planned work through analyzing work demands, competing priorities, and tight deadlines; and to understand the most effective and efficient means to accomplish tasks within the parameters of the organizational structure, processes, systems, and policies

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field

  • 5+ Years of hands on software development experience, including web development, service development, and API development

  • Demonstrable skills at problem solving and troubleshooting

 

  • 5+ years of development experience, preferably with C# and the Microsoft .Net Stac
  • 3+ years experience creating and consuming web services
  • 3+ years of T-SQL/PL-SQL development experience
  • Knowledge of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
