The Director, IT International is a critical member of both the International and Corporate IT Leadership teams.  The incumbent will collaborate with the VP Restaurant Technology to help define and lead all IT strategy and direction outside the U.S. and partner with in-country Franchisee resources to ensure effective execution in support of ongoing business operations.  The Director, IT International will act as the primary technology liaison for our International Franchisees and their vendor partners.  This role guides the selection, implementation and maintenance of International restaurant technologies inclusive of POS Hardware, POS Software, Inventory and Labor Management Systems as part of an all-inclusive restaurant technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Ability to work with International business teams to recognize business issues and propose solutions to using technology (when appropriate) 
Ability to work-with and positively influence both international business leaders and information technology teams 
Assist the International team to ensure the IT Operations within each country are organized and staffed appropriately, both internally and through third party resources, to achieve growth goals and operational stability 
Creating and maintaining technology standards and recommendations that serve as a ready and reliable set of choices for International Franchisees to drive the best opportunity for franchisee success and profitability
Pursues and fosters restaurant technology vendor relationships and assists in achieving the most profitable vendor cost structure on behalf of the international franchisee
Help to deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies for each International Entity 
Ensure International markets are ‘secure’ & ‘maintain security’ regarding Payment Card Industry (PCI) & Personal Identifiable Information (PII) standards 
Ensure effective Tier I & Tier II support strategies exist and effectively function within International markets 
Leverage CKE knowledge assets, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision for various International IT organizations 
Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts 
Regular and frequent evaluation and documentation of the global state of technology vendor viability, capability, interoperability, and local support networks by geopolitical region for QSR (“Quick Serve Restaurant”) technologies such as:
POS Hardware and Software, Inventory and Labor Management Systems, Restaurant Reporting Systems, Order Confirmation Systems, Drive-Through Timer Systems, Digital Menu Systems, Kitchen Management Systems, Payment Systems
Review performance of International IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements 

Experiences and Competencies
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including facilitation and team leadership.
Self-starter, self-motivated and capable of working independently or within a team 
Strong background in system development and implementation lifecycles
Background in Cloud based integration projects
Strong organizational and time management skills and able to handle multiple projects and tasks 
Positive attitude and ability to handle stress well in a highly changing environment  
Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships and foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, trust, and support
Ability to adapt and adjust planned work through analyzing work demands, competing priorities, and tight deadlines; and to understand the most effective and efficient means to accomplish tasks within the parameters of the organizational structure, processes, systems, and policies

Minimum Qualifications
Degree in the field of computer science or information systems or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 
Minimum of 10 years IT experience with at least 2 years directly related to international IT   
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and/or directing an IT operation with a high preference managing team members internationally 
International experience in one or more countries, preference to Europe and Asia/Pac regions 
Experience in the Retail industry, with preference to Casual Dining or Quick Service environments required 
Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development 
Must have a firm understanding of PCI-DSS compliance standards 
Ability to coordinate and drive IT Operations without direct authority over the staff 
Good understanding and technical knowledge of current network and PC operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards, including restaurant-specific hardware and applications 
Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management 
Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems 
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in various countries as they relate to IT 
Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures
Ability to travel internationally up to 60-70%, as requirements dictate

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in either of these fields or Master of Business Administration with technology as a core component preferred
