The Sr. G/L Analyst is responsible for analyzing & reconciling balance sheet & profit and loss accounts by reviewing the general ledger detail, A/P, A/R, Asset Management and other subsystems to determine what data was posted to the accounts, the time period that the data relates to and what functions to perform related to the data.   


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

  • Monitor, research, analyze and resolve specific line item or process details (such as “inventory and food cost”)
  • Analyzes & reconciles balance sheet accounts including roll-forwards
  • Analyzes profit & loss accounts including cause of change
  • Active participant in period and quarterly close process
  • Prepares journal entries to accrue for outstanding invoices; record revenue and expense to the proper accounts; expense prepaids to the proper period, allocate G&A expense to proper department
  • Prepare balance sheet & profit and loss analytics for management review purposes
  • Prepare balance sheet & profit and loss analytics for outside auditors
  • Communicates with Operations and Corporate Personnel as appropriate for assigned Team
  • Participates in company meetings and conference calls
  • Performs special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements 

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of general accounting
  • BA/BS Degree required
  • CPA license preferred
  • Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Word
  • Experience with Hyperion preferred
  • Experience working with computerized financial accounting system, preferably Oracle/Peoplesoft
  • Experience in account analysis
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills; communicates effectively with various contacts (internal and external)
  • Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Must display strong analytical and organizational skills and have the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business results
  • Must have strong work ethics and a high level of confidentiality to ensure proper handling of sensitive information

  • Corporate Office fast paced, high volume of activity and a deadline driven environment
