Reporting to the Sr. Manager Distribution & Logistics.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

  • Will be assigned direct day to day responsibility for the performance of 8 distribution centers delivering to approximately 1800 restaurants twice weekly.
  • Manage day to day operations of re-distribution supplying assigned distribution centers
  • Use best practices and available technology to maximize opportunities with regard to logistics and freight management
  • Ensure consistent day to day execution and timely and accurate deliveries between the various distribution companies and the Hardeeā€™s restaurants
  • Manage and monitor metrics that compare actual distributor performance vs. agreed to/contractual performance benchmarks
  • Recommend, initiate and execute process requirements relative to distributor performance
  • Assist Senior Distribution Manager in leading and establishing a 3PL network for both brands that will result in lower freight costs and by extension lower store delivered costs
  • Resolve ongoing and/or random distribution/logistical issues that do occur in the supply chain.  10 to 15% travel could be required
  • Single point of contact for coordination of restaurant services (music, grease disposal, waste management, pest control, etc.)
  • Keep Purchasing Managers, Purchasing Agents and Inventory Analysts informed of DC status, issues, problems, etc
  • Development and circulation of various distribution and logistical reports
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills; communicates effectively with various contacts (internal and external)
  • Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Attends seminars and completes other training to remain current on industry trends
  • Participates in company meetings, webinars and conference calls
  • Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Must possess a minimum of five (5) years that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of Supply Chain Management and transportation of Food and Packaging  
  • BA/BS Degree preferred
  • Must display strong excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize as necessary with little supervision
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Must have excellent service skills, courteous and helpful attitude.
  • Must have strong work ethics and a high level of confidentiality to ensure proper handling of sensitive information
