Qualifications

·             Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school with a strong academic record.

·             Admission to TN or other state bar

·             7 or more years of professional experience with a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department focusing on intellectual property / advertising / data privacy.

·             Some in-house experience in a retail environment preferred.

·             Experience representing clients in the restaurant industry a plus, but not a requirement.

·             Computer literacy: Word, Outlook, Excel

·             Outstanding writing and communication skills

·             Outstanding organization and prioritization skills

·             Excellent negotiation and research skills

·             Comfortable in a matrix-based organization with the ability to lead and influence even without directly-assigned supervisorial duties.

·             Creative and deadline-driven.

·             Ability to take direction but work independently

·             Ability to operate within and lead members of a highly responsive and service-oriented legal team.

·             Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information

·             Entrepreneurial zeal balanced by broad but rigorous business and legal judgment; tolerance for ambiguity; decisive, ability to prioritize.

·             Attention to detail

·             Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and internal client and time management skills – must collaborate and coordinate across departments, business lines and functional support areas.

·             Ability to manage up, down, and work well with peers; ability to push back without alienating others.

·             Transparent in work style

·             Ability to deliver complex legal advice in a comprehensive and business-friendly manner

·             Willingness to challenge accepted thinking and existing paradigms – restless desire to improve at individual-, team-, departmental-, and enterprise-levels.
